Spring Children’s Portraits with Chickens | St. George Product & Lifestyle Photography

What’s sweeter than two little boys in spring sunshine? Two little boys in matching chicken shirts, snuggling their real-life backyard chickens! This early spring photo session in Southern Utah was a perfect mix of personality, play, and product photography, and I couldn’t love the results more.

The boys were so gentle and proud of their chickens—it was clear they’re not just pets, but part of the family. We laughed, chased a few wandering hens, and soaked up the first signs of warmer weather. These are the kinds of childhood moments I live to capture—simple, real, and totally unforgettable.

I also had the opportunity to do a product shoot for Carriage House Printery, a fabric company that I’m thrilled to sew for as a strike seamstress. I sewed the boys’ adorable chicken-themed shirts using one of their new fabric prints, and this session doubled as a lifestyle shoot to help promote the fabric in action.

As both a photographer and seamstress, it’s so rewarding to blend these two worlds—bringing fabric to life through photography, while showcasing real, playful childhood moments. This was the perfect way to show off Carriage House Printery’s custom fabric, with two sweet boys who clearly love their chickens and their new shirts.
