Why I Love Photography | Saint George Utah Family and Portrait photographer
Photography is magical! It’s taking moments in time and freezing them for us to look back on over and over again. When you hear the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words.” it true. Not everyone will see the same story but every pictures says something to everyone.
As a mother photography is the way I document our lives. I look back on those photos and remember those precious moments that I had forgotten. You know, those times that the moment you see a photos you say something like “oh I forgot that she did silly faces all the time like this!” or “I remember when he was so tiny and grabbed his toes like that!” Those are the moments to live for!
When I first became a mother I use to stress every time I went to take pictures of my children because I just HAD to have them all looking at the camera! I left each photoshoot exhausted disappointed feeling and my children were grumpy too! That was not the way I wanted to feel at the end of a session because I love photography! By the time I got my photos uploaded and sorting through them I was feeling pretty low about how things went, until I came across that cute adorable silly face they made. That they always make when I’m not taking pictures. Needless to say it made me smile! As I searched through the rest of the photos I found more gems just like that one and wish had captured more. Those are still to this day my favorite photos! The ones that I capture their sweet personalities in.
From that day forward I did my best to not stress about whether or not they looked at the camera. I still did get some photos of them looking at me and those are great too but my favorites are the ones that we may not think about capturing at first.
So when you go to take photos of your loved ones remember to embrace those sweet unexpected moments. Those will become your favorite! I hope to capture some of those moments for you too!
